THE DUKES OF SEPTEMBER RHYTHM REVUE
Featuring Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald, & Boz Scaggs

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2010

Tickets on-sale Saturday, July 24 at noon!

Las Vegas, NV (July 19) – GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriters Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs are uniting this summer and fall to tour as “The Dukes of September Rhythm Revue,” and will bring their unique show to The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Saturday, October 2.  The three hit-making artists have assembled a stellar band for the occasion, and will bring the best of their mix of blue-eyed soul, rock, jazz and R&B to the stage in a series of collaborative concerts. Tickets go on sale this Saturday at noon.

Donald Fagen explains the genesis of the tour, “Back in the early 90s, my wife (Libby Titus) was producing little shows in Manhattan restaurants featuring mostly friends - musicians, comedians and so on. This grew into ‘The New York Rock & Soul Revue’ which toured nationally for two years and produced an album, Live at the Beacon Theater. The 1993 show featured, among others, Mike McDonald, Boz Scaggs and myself. The shows were such a blast that we decided to tour together again this year as the mighty ‘Dukes of September.’ We'll be playing the kind of R&B tunes that made us want to be musicians way back when, as well as select numbers from our personal repertoires. We've enlisted a swell group of players and singers - in fact, I'm so excited that I just can't hide it. Be there or be square, chillin'.”

With this year’s “The Dukes of September Rhythm Revue,” Fagen, McDonald and Scaggs are giving fans an unprecedented opportunity to hear them delve deep into their individual classic catalogs of music, along with selected hits and tributes to their influences accompanied by a crack group of top players including Jon Herington (guitar); Freddie Washington (bass); Michael White (drums); Michael Leonhart, Walt Weiskopf and Jay Collins (horns); Jim Beard (organ); plus background singers Carolyn Escoffery and Catherine Russel.

Tickets, starting at $39.50 (plus applicable service fees), will be available Saturday at noon at the Hard Rock Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations, online at Ticketmaster.com or charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000.

Two all new haunted houses themed after the legendary SAW horror franchise
and popular horror film MY BLOODY VALENTINE.

LAS VEGAS – July 14, 2010 – It’s time to play a game….. Fright Dome takes over The Adventuredome at Circus Circus beginning Friday, Oct. 1. For the second year, Fright Dome will partner with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures to theme SAW, one of its five haunted houses. Additionally, Lionsgate’s MY BLOODY VALENTINE will reveal its horror house this fall.  This season Fright Dome is guaranteed to terrify even the bravest of visitors with all new themes and scare zones.

Fright Dome’s houses bring together plots from various installments of the legendary horror movie franchise SAW, and the newly added popular horror film, MY BLOODY VALENTINE. Interactive, handcrafted replicas of the “games” set by Jigsaw in the popular SAW saga will be among the many things guests have to look forward to this year.  MY BLOODY VALENTINE is currently out on DVD and Lionsgate is expected to release SAW 3D nationwide this Halloween.

“We’ve always had one of the top haunted attractions in the nation and partnering with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures for a second year will make it bigger and better than ever,” said Jason Egan, owner and creator of Fright Dome. “The SAW and MY BLOODY VALENTINE films cut to the core of human fear and we’re exploiting that to its fullest potential.”

“We are honored for SAW to be a part of Fright Dome for the second year in a row, and eagerly anticipate the reveal of the MY BLOODY VALENTINE haunted house.  With the seventh installment of SAW slated to be released this Halloween in 3-D, fans will be immersed in SAW like never before, both through the 3D theatrical experience and in Fright Dome.  We are excited to bring the characters and settings of both movie going experiences to the Las Vegas market place, where people from all over the word can take part in the horror,” added President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions Jason Constantine.

Egan adds to the excitement and terror of Fright Dome this year by adding three of the world’s most notorious and macabre magicians in the all-new “Show of Magic & Horror.” Guests can enjoy a combination of shock, illusion, unsettling conjuring and non-stop mayhem from Dixie Dooley, Kevin James and Dan Sperry. Dark and fog-filled, Fright Dome sets a chilling atmosphere with roaming characters, high-powered strobes, multi-colored lasers and five acres of fright made up of all new extreme scare zones, rides, attractions and five haunted houses. No place left unhaunted, demons will descend from the ceiling as guests walk underneath.

“The Adventuredome and Fright Dome partnership has exceeded our expectations and continues to be one of the must-see, haunted attractions in the country year after year,” said Don Thrasher, president and chief operating officer of Circus Circus.

Fright Dome is open from 7 p.m. to midnight Oct. 1-31 on select nights. General admission tickets are $34.95 and fast pass tickets are available for an additional $15 which allow express line entry for all five haunted houses.

LAS VEGAS – June 21, 2010 – The eclectic Vampire Weekend bring their preppy, indie rock sound to The Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Casino Resort on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. with special guests Beach House and The Very Best.

Vampire Weekend set sail towards becoming a household name in 2008 when they released theie self-titled first album. Songs such as “Oxford Comma” immediately set the stage for the band’s unique sound and the album debuted within Top 20 charts in both the U.S. and U. K.

Ideas for Contra, the band’s sophomore release, had been bubbling since before the release of their debut and the band began recording in January 2009, only two weeks after finishing an 18-month world tour supporting the first record. The sound is familiar, yet new territory for Vampire Weekend with includes from third-wave ska, Brazilian baile funk, Congolese thumb pianos and countless other influences that run the musical and instrumental spectrum. These influences are incorporated with subtlety and sophistication.

Vampire Weekend's music and lyrics serve to both construct and deconstruct a world around them. Like the word "contra" itself, the songs are layered with meaning and invite interpretation. With this album, Vampire Weekend have staked out an alien territory literate, crackling, alive that's unmistakably their own.

This event is presented in association with Andrew Hewitt and Live Nation. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. and show time is 8:00 p.m. The Pearl Box Office is open Sunday through Wednesday from noon – 7:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday from noon – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from noon – 9:00 p.m. The Pearl is sponsored by Citi; for more information on upcoming concerts, please call 702-942-6888.

LAS VEGAS – June 14, 2010 – After a whirl-wind year, Grammy award-winning band Phoenix will take to the stage at The Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Casino Resort on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. with special guests Holy Ghost.

Influenced by their electro ’80s upbringing, the rock-synth band made their start rehearsing in vocalist Thomas Mars’ garage in the suburbs of Paris. Guitarist Laurent Brancowitz joined younger brother guitarist Chris Mazzalai and bassist Deck d’Arcy in 1995.

The group got their touring start in the late ’90s on the French bar circuit performing Hank Williams and Prince covers. The band took the name Phoenix two years later and pressed 500 copies of a single on their own label, Ghettoblaster. Soon after, they were signed to the Paris-based Source Records.
In 2000, following their two singles "If I Ever Feel Better" and "Too Young," Phoenix released their debut album, United. Their track "Too Young" was featured on the soundtrack for the movies “Lost in Translation” and “Shallow Hal.”
Further albums include, Alphabetical (2004), Live! Thirty Days Ago (2005), It’s Never Been Like That (2006) and Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (2009).
In 2010, Phoenix won a Grammy Award in the category Best Alternative Music Album for their fifth album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Shortly afterwards, the song "1901" peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot Alternative Songs chart. LAS VEGAS – June 7, 2010 – Armed with her witty and sometimes controversial sense of humor, comedian Margaret Cho brings her latest comedy tour to The Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Casino Resort on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 9:30 p.m.

Margaret Cho received her first big break in the comedy field at the age of 16, when she entered and subsequently won a contest where the grand prize was opening up for comedian Jerry Seinfeld. Soon after, Cho hit the college circuits and became an instant hit among the college demographic. After a couple big late night appearances, Cho was catapulted into the mainstream world of comedy, leading to a starring role in the short lived ABC sitcom, All-American Girl.

In 1999, Cho wrote and starred in a one woman show based off of her experiences on the sitcom called I’m the One That I Want, which eventually turned into a US tour, concert film and book. She followed up with a tour called Notorious C.H.O. in 2001 and then Revolution in 2003. Revolution grossed more than $4 million and the CD version of Revolution was nominated for a Grammy award. Riding high from the success of Revolution, Cho launched the State of Emergency tour during the 2004 Presidential election which emerged as a new tour Assassin.

In 2007, Cho traveled with Cyndi Lauper, Debbie Harry & Erasure, The Dresden Dolls and The Cliks on the True Colors Tour, which benefited human rights. In 2009, Cho returned to the stage with a new comedy tour titled Beautiful, which was also filmed as her fifth concert film.
